Welcome to StandOut Leadership Consultancy
When I started my career in HR, I had one goal in mind: to learn enough to be able to help leaders be the best versions of themselves. When leaders are confident, they build and develop confident teams who achieve great results. With this goal in mind, I began to pay a lot of attention to two things in particular: how businesses operated in order to be successful and how leaders performed in order to make businesses successful.
One of the most important things I learned, which leadership research continues to support, is that the most successful leaders are those who lead with emotional intelligence and have high levels of self-awareness. Over the last 15 years, this has been reinforced more and more as organisations continue to evolve towards being more collaborative and trusting, moving away from fear-based leadership.
In the course of my career, I found myself drawn to organisations that were on this journey. In these organisations, I learned that some leaders were aware of the need to change but didn’t know how to lead teams without fear. These roles became the ones I enjoyed the most because of the challenge of working with a leader to bring more self-awareness and EQ. In most cases, I was successful in coaching leaders to work more collaboratively with their teams, set and share their expectations and achieve amazing engagement across the organisation.
Now, with StandOut Leadership Consultancy, I plan to continue to seek out these opportunities to work with leaders who want to be better. Whether they are anticipating or currently facing challenges, I aim to be a trusted coach and advisor to these organisations, helping them move to a different way of leadership.
Leaders don’t need to be defined by how much pressure they face from all layers of the organsiation. It’s not an easy task delivering performance through and with others but it can be done in a way that still delivers that feeling of accomplishment. Ultimately, I want to work with leaders who not only care about what they achieve, but how.
If that is you, I look forward to connecting with you!
